The Wenderal system was a part of the Outer Rim Territories' Aparo sector. During the Galactic Civil War, a number of Rebel Alliance cells were active in the star system.
At some point by 2 ABY, Alliance Intelligence learned from contacts in the Wenderal system cells about the company MerenData having covered up the fact that several lots of its EV-series supervisor droid model—with a number of shipments of the droids having already gone out—had been erroneously fitted with illegal MDF motivators designed for use in interrogation droids.
