Blackwoods were a type of tree that grew in the forests of the planet Alderaan. In the first year of the Empire's reign after its formation in 19 BBY, the scent of blackwoods and pines drifted in on the breeze through the balcony windows of Eastwind Manor on Alderaan while Senator Bail Organa was staying there. Alderaan was destroyed by the Galactic Empire in 1 BBY.
