Co-Chancellor was a position of the Galactic Republic that Supreme Chancellor Palpatine–the public face of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious–said to his master the Muun Darth Plagueis, he was intending to give him following the day of his election. But it was not to be. The same night of Palpatine's election, Plagueis went intoxicated with wine, allowing Sidious to kill him in order to make the Zabrak Darth Maul his Sith apprentice and follow the Rule of Two.
