Cobolite weave

Cobolite weave was an experimental ion-enhancing fabric used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars to create Test Unit 08-B. Test Unit 08-B was a garment that produced a weapons amplification field of 2.41 meters. The field increased the effectiveness of ion weapons but had a side effect of causing nearby battle droids to become violently disorientated. Due to the importance of Battle Droids to the war effort Dr. Aiyah Pellorean, research director on the project, was ordered to halt their work until peace was achieved. The outfit along with its final report was stored in a bunker on the Outer Rim planet Akiva.

In 3 ABY Kay Vess was able to locate and open the bunker on Akiva. Inside she retrieved the garnet.
