Crab Puff

Crab Puffs were puff pastries stuffed with living crabs, originating on the planet Mon Cala. They were eaten by the native Mon Calamari in order to celebrate Life Day, a galaxy-wide holiday of Wookiee culture celebrating family, joy, and harmony. Sometime before the publication of The Life Day Cookbook, which took place after its predecessor's release in 34 ABY, author Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs traveled to Mon Cala in order to fix his Sienar-Chall Utilipede Transport. While on the planet, he visited a watering hole where a Mon Calamari chef gave him the recipe for the dish. The recipe called for live crabs, but Tuggs preferred his crab deep-fried, so he would later publish a deep-fried variation in The Life Day Cookbook instead of the original.
