Detonator ale was a type of alcoholic beverage produced by the Gamorrean species, sharing its name with the detonator, an explosive device. The ale had violently adverse effects on several species, leading to it being banned throughout most of the galaxy at the time of the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire.
Around 3637 BBY, an individual associated with one of the two warring factions had a companion of theirs smuggle a shipment of detonator ales to the Outer Rim planet Rishi.
