Feint and Backstab

The Feint and Backstab was starfighter combat tactic utilized by Rebel Alliance starfighter pilots to attack a formation of Imperial fighters. The tactic relied on deception and consisted of two starfighter flight groups closing with the enemy. One formation would identify the enemy targets, accelerate to attack speed and appear to set a head-on collision course, drawing the attention of the target. Before the flight entered active combat range, both fighters veered out of the path of the enemy starfighters, distracting them. While this transpired, the second flight secretly closed with the enemy wingmate to eliminate them from the fight.
