Gallium

Gallium was an ore that could be found on Altor 14, a hot, arid planet of sand and rocky wastes located in the Outer Rim Territories' Zoraster sector. Deposits of gallium were present in territories controlled by communities of the Nuiwit, a species of sentient reptile that, by the time of the Galactic Civil War, had developed mining. After relatively long negotiations following the discovery of Altor 14 by a scout from the Rego Mineral Company at some point during the reign of the Galactic Empire, the Nuiwit agreed to establish trade relations with the company for the purposes of mining gallium.
