Hexophilenine was a substance the use of which for manufacturing hyperdrive components was being developed by 22 BBY. The market analysts of the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure prognosticated that the use of hexophilenine in the production of hyperdrives would lead to the collapse of the prices of teniline—a mineral important in hyperdrive manufacture—within the next five years.
Accordingly, when Jabba negotiated a trade deal with the viceroy of the celestial body Bheriz that year, the former only increased the amount of teniline Bheriz would have to provide from a quarter of its annual output to half its output so that the crime lord would still acquire the valuable mineral but not be left with too much stock of it.
