The Iyra species of the planet F'tral used a language that had both spoken and written forms. When written, the language employed characters composed of curves and dots. In the Iyra tongue, the word F'tral meant "water" and was also the name of the Iyra's aquatic homeworld. At some point during the reign of the Galactic Empire the Iyra sentientologist Tem Eliss wrote the first draft of a document titled: The University of Sanbra Guide to Intelligent Life. In an intro to the document Eliss included his signature, written in the Iyra language.
