The Lost Empire referred to a period of history, predating the Carvian period, from which artifact dealer Luthen Rael believed a ring he wore originated. During an art exhibition hosted on the planet Coruscant by banker Davo Sculdun in 3 BBY, Rael showed the ring to partygoer Strang and another partygoer, having them guess its origins; upon revealing its speculated Lost Empire origin, the partygoers expressed surprise that he wore the ring out.
