Palm sugar

Palm sugar was a type of sugar that shared its name with palm trees. At some point no earlier than 379 BBY, a feast was thrown aboard the starship called the Gaze Electric, which belonged to Marda Ro—the Evereni founder of a group of pirates who would eventually become the Nihil. An individual who was a member of Ro's organization baked finger cakes for the occasion, frosting them with ground palm sugar. During the feast, Ro nibbled on one of the finger cakes.

Later, Ro mentioned palm sugar in a message she recorded for her descendants. By 252 BBY, during his youth, Ro's great-great-grandson Marchion Ro had listened to her memoirs, including the entry where the sugar was mentioned.
