Peermaid, also spelled Peer Maid was a traditional Chandrilan role in which young Chandrilan girls accompany noble offspring through their daily life. They often help with chores as well as provide friendship and guidance. In 4 BBY, a number of Leida Mothma's peermaids attended her wedding with Stekan Sculdun at the Mothma Estate on Chandrila. On the first day of the wedding, Leida led a group of them to see her wedding gown.
