Pneumonia was a deadly disease that, as of 21.5 BBY, was unknown to galactic society but had ravaged less civilized populations, such as the Korunnai. It attacked and congested the lungs, which would cause labored respiration and wheezing. Antibiotics were used to treat this condition, as well as plethyl nitrate in some species, such as Devaronians.
