A squadron admiral referred to the admiral in command of a naval squadron. Fleet Admiral Kendal Ozzel was the squadron admiral of the Imperial Navy's Death Squadron. As the squadron admiral, he or Darth Vader could co-opt warships from other system squadrons. Firmus Piett succeeded Admiral Ozzel as the admiral in command of Death Squadron.
