Synox was a type of poison that was lethal even in tiny amounts. The Atriik Tunenep received a scant amount of synox while she was a Little in the Path of the Open Hand, an anti-Jedi cult. She carried the poison with her in a jogan fruit pit on a leather strap round her neck and brought it with her to a refugee camp on the planet Amaltanna during the Clone Wars, hoping to find a Jedi that she could kill with it. Instead, she encountered the human refugee Jesha Cour and took her under her wing, eventually leaving Amaltanna with her and traveling to the planet Coruscant.
On Coruscant, Tunenep told Cour about the poison while they were outside the Jedi Temple, telling her that she wished to burn the temple down, or at least poison every Jedi inside one by one with the synox. Soon after, Tunenep perished during the Battle of Coruscant in 19 BBY and Cour took the pit of synox from her body. When Cour later encountered the fugitive Jedi Padawan Ryza Ayre following the fall of the Jedi Order, she promised to help him and guided him back to her apartment, intending to poison him with the synox. Holding the pit tightly, she prepared him tea and promised that after drinking it he would be able to rest.
