The Break was a starfighter combat technique designed to evade an impending attack from an enemy starfighter when a pilot realized they were flying in the path of an approaching enemy. It was a popular tactic among the ranks of pilots in the Rebel Alliance and used by Rebel pilots at the Battle of Yavin.
