Tràkata

Canon Legends version → Linked from 7 articles

Tràkata was a style of lightsaber combat that involved turning the blade of the saber on and off during a fight. A skilled saber wielder who did not follow the traditional rules of lightsaber combat, the Sith known as "the Stranger" used Tràkata while fighting a group of Jedi on Khofar in 132 BBY. The Stranger later used Tràkata again, during his rematch against Jedi Master Sol on Brendok, and Sol himself also employed the technique to conjure up a wave of Force energy and to destroy the Stranger's lightsaber, which allowed him to win the duel. Obi-Wan Kenobi employed Tràkata while fighting Maul and Savage Opress on Florrum. Cal Kestis employed Tràkata briefly during his duel with the Second Sister on Bogano. Marrok briefly employed Tràkata to off set Ahsoka in his final duel with her. Despite his quick use of the technique Ahsoka quickly recovered and won the duel.
