Vintrium

Vintrium was an valuable ore that could be found on the Mid Rim planet Mapuzo. Although highly-flammable in its raw form, the substance was able to withstand substantial blasterfire once properly refined. Mapuzo's mining industry centered around vintrium and drew the attention of the Galactic Empire, who set up a garrison on the planet to oversee production.

In 9 BBY, the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader located his old Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mapuzo and cornered him in a quarry outside a small village. Seeking to torment his enemy, Vader toppled a container of vintrium and set it aflame with his lightsaber before using the Force to throw Kenobi into the inferno. The intense flames required Kenobi to seek healing from a bacta tank on Jabiim.
