Whiptree

Whiptrees were a type of thin-trunked, flexible tree. They grew in large quantities on the planet Ryloth, often forming dark-colored patches within the world's rocky terrain. In 14 BBY, the Imperial colonel Belkor Dray saw some of the trees while flying an airspeeder on Ryloth. Eventually, he landed in a valley featuring more whiptrees to meet with the leader of the anti-Imperial Free Ryloth Movement, Cham Syndulla, with whom the officer was collaborating against his Imperial colleagues. Not long after, the Free Ryloth Movement resistance fighter Isval mentally mused that the Imperial lieutenant Grolt's frame was "whiptree-thin."
