Star Wars Manga: A New Hope 1 is the first volume in the Star Wars Manga: A New Hope series, an English release of a manga adaptation of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope that was originally published in Japanese in 1997. It was illustrated by Hisao Tamaki and was based upon the original story by George Lucas. The cover art is by Adam Warren.
In August 1999, the comic won the Eisner Award for Best U.S. Edition of Foreign Material.
