Starfighter: Crossbones 1 was the first of three issues in the Star Wars: Starfighter: Crossbones comic tie-in to the Starfighter video game. Although the dialogue in the issue says that six years have passed since the Battle of Naboo, the inside cover, the Dark Horse Comics timeline, and all subsequent collections of the series have instead dated the series to 24 BBY.
