The Axis desk was an investigative desk opened by the Imperial Security Bureau's Investigations branch to focus on movements of a rebel leader that the bureau dubbed "Axis". Originally run by ISB Supervisor Dedra Meero of the ISB Board in 4 BBY, it was later handed off to Supervisor Avril Heert, Meero's former aid turned fellow member of the board, who ran it during 3 BBY. In the same year, Heert took an interest in some of the weapons recovered from a number of raids the ISB had conducted in Supervisor Lagret's sector.
