Canon Legends version → Linked from 15 articles
Battle Station Operations (BSO) was a separate entity from the Imperial Army and Imperial Navy that was stationed aboard the DS-1 Death Star Mobile Battle Station. In order to effectively and efficiently maintain and operate the Death Star, it had eight major departments: engineering, logistics, maintenance, medical, personnel, security, station defenses, technical support, followed by various other sub-branches. Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin was the supreme commander of the Death Star's BSO personnel, and all command decisions regarding the battle station ultimately went through him.
