The Commission for the Protection of the Republic (COMPOR) was a populist movement and lobbyist group that existed during the late era of the Galactic Republic. Formed in a time of conflict across the galaxy, COMPOR was responsible for promoting wartime propaganda to support the Republic against the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. The organization was overseen by a director who, in addition to serving as head of COMPOR, was also part of the Strategic Advisory Cell. Its membership included several artists such as Venthan Chassu, Byno Doubton, Hamma Elad, and Donclode Onstruss. They created various pro-Republic propaganda posters that COMPOR produced and circulated throughout the galaxy.

As the conflict continued, COMPOR lobbied the Galactic Senate to give more authority to Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, believing that a more powerful executive office would lead to the Republic's decisive victory over the Separatists. By the war's end, Palpatine declared himself Emperor of the First Galactic Empire. The New Order absorbed COMPOR by reorganizing the group as a government agency, the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR), that served as the Empire's propaganda wing throughout the Imperial Era.
