The Dynamet Corporation was active in the galaxy in the century before the Great Sith War between the Galactic Republic and the forces of the Sith. In 4056 BBY, the corporation donated a large amount of credits to the hospital Mercy General on the planet Taris in order to fund a wing dedicated to developing a cure for Taris's rakghoul plague. The company's generosity led to the building being renamed to the Dynamet General Hospital.
