The engineering corps was a formation of the Imperial Navy. The research and development arm of the deepdock fleet, the engineering corps was comprised of technical specialists. The engineering corps worked on construction projects, usually involving unproven technology, development and refinement of new manufacturing processes, and working to ensure that Imperial technology was on par with—or, ideally, better than—the forces of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
