House Girard was a relatively minor Alderaanian noble house that existed by the time of the Cold War. They remained largely independent in the grand scheme of politics that was common place on Alderaan though this changed when the Alderaan Civil War broke out. This left the Girards in a dangerously exposed position and thus they decided to pledge their influence and resources to the recently returned House Thul who were backed by the Sith Empire in exchange for their protection.
The entirety of the house nobility resided in the wings of the Thul estate and the various Girard nobles awaited their inevitable victory in order to reclaim their imperiled lands along with the promise of new territories as a reward for their loyal support. The house was led by Zacar Girard, with Vice-Baron Heitor Girard, Raffid Girard and Aitalla Girard being the closest in line to inherit the position as head of the house. Lord Norn Girard was also a prominent family member who mostly occupied his time by assisting House Thul with their military efforts. Zacar enlisted the future Grand Champion of the Great Hunt to assist with the House's ambitions on the planet by hunting down the Durasteel Duke. The Baron unexpectedly dies, forcing the hunter to help decide which of the other leaders of the house gets to rule in the baron's place.
