Imperial Space Ministry

The Imperial Space Ministry was an agency of the Galactic Empire that was responsible for maintaining starship records. During the transition between the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire, the Imperial Space Ministry and Bureau of Ships and Services had many bureaucratic errors which resulted in the deletion and displacement of ship registration records, including many details of the Millennium Falcon history.

During the Imperial Era, the ministry kept transponder records of all licensed civilian starships operating within the Empire's domain; however some active vessels predated the mandate or were exempted through their military origins and so were able to fly "ghost" without broadcasting any identification. One such vessel was the ST-70 assault ship named the Razor Crest. A Zeta-class Heavy Cargo Shuttle required a pilot and copilot that had the necessary operator licenses from the Imperial Space Ministry.
