The Imperial Zoological Agency was a branch of the Imperial Survey Corps, a part of the Navy of the Galactic Empire. The duties of the Imperial Zoological Agency included the cataloging of plants and creatures on worlds newly discovered by the Empire. One such locale was the planet Najarka of the Outer Rim Territories' Rayter sector. There, years before the Battle of Yavin, the agency discovered and cataloged the kichicolia, a species of white-and-black-furred arboreal primate inhabiting the planet's equatorial belt of jungle.
