The Devaronian Kandhar led a faction of the White Maw pirate group during the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. However, a Republic smuggler exposed to his men that the deal would rob them of their independence from the Empire, leading them to mutiny and flee Hoth.
