The Lothal garrison was installed on Lothal during its control by the Galactic Empire soon after the Clone Wars and the transformation of the Galactic Republic into the Empire. It was later dissolved when Lothal was liberated by the Spectres. The Lothal garrison was commanded primarily by Commandant Cumberlayne Aresko, who also took it upon himself to train new Imperial recruits at the Imperial Academy on Lothal along with Taskmaster Myles Grint.
