Medtech Industries was a droid manufacturing company that was also a trailblazer in the medical field. They developed some of the earliest medical droids, including the FX-series medical assistant droid. However, increased competition in the field, along with changing consumer tastes led the once successful company to not be able to produce any new models.

Medtech relocated to the Deep Core before declaring bankruptcy shortly before the Battle of Hoth. The company apparently fell out of business by 3 ABY, likely due to its primary line, the FX-series, becoming obsolete.
