MerenData was a droid manufacturer that produced the EV-series supervisor droid, many of which suffered from a programming defect that caused them to display cruel behavior. EV-9D9 was one of the few that escaped the company's mass recall. They also manufactured IDCA-22 datapads for the Empire as well as data-medallions for the First Order.
