Merson pirates
Canon Legends version → Linked from 5 articles
The Merson pirates were active in the galaxy during the Republic and Imperial Eras. They shared their name with the Merson system in the Inner Rim. During the Clone Wars, they were one of several pirate groups supported by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Separatist leader Count Dooku encouraged them to harass supply lines used by the Galactic Republic during the war.
Later, during the reign of the Galactic Empire, in 9 BBY, Princess Leia Organa had gone starship spotting on her home planet Alderaan. Amid her adventure, Organa located a Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter and suspected that it was an Aquillian Ranger searching for Merson pirates.
