The Rift Alliance was a political faction and militant group in the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic formed of Republic or Republic-aligned planets united by their shared protests at the Republic "incompetence", they threatened to secede from the Republic. Without these worlds, the Republic would have collapsed. However, despite being originally hostile, the Rift Alliance was united by a powerful Jedi Master to stand against the Sith Empire and provided their rich resources to the Jedi's cause.
