Arthritis was a condition that affected joint movement, often causing discomfort and pain.

After an entity known as the Darker had manipulated Chewbacca's emotions and turned the Wookiee against C-3PO, the protocol droid sprayed oil from his internal lubrication system in Chewbacca's face. Threepio claimed that without the oil lubricating his joints, that they would feel arthritic.

In his later years, Gilad Pellaeon developed arthritis.
