The Balis-Baurgh prison was a penal facility operated by the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Originally built by the natives of the planet Balis-Baurgh as a sign of unity and cooperation, it was sabotaged by the Empire who used the incident to inflame international tensions on the planet. The resulting war allowed the Empire to take over the world and convert the station into a prison.
