Barrier

The Barrier, or Great Barrier, or Barrier of At Attin was a nebula-like gaseous orbital defense field that surrounded the planet At Attin. Starships were not permitted to pass through the Barrier without authorization from At Attin's government.

Inside the Barrier were electric mines that would send out bolts of energy at any unauthorized ship, destroying it. Ships transporting emissaries to At Attin to collect newly-minted credits transmitted a signal that disarmed the mines until they passed them.

In 9 ABY, Wendle and Fara, while struggling with Jod Na Nawood, managed to throw the Barrier's killswitch, destroying it to allow the New Republic Starfighter Corps to drive off Na Nawood's pirates.
