Broken Gate was a form of unarmed combat practiced by the Jedi Knights of the Galactic Republic.
Some of the techniques used in this form included striking, throwing, and stomping.
It is possible that Broken Gate also utilized joint locking techniques, as Jedi Master Ilena Xan, the unarmed combat instructor at the Jedi Temple, was a specialist in joint locking. Padawan Tallisibeth Enwandung-Esterhazy, one of Ilena Xan's students, was also known for being skilled in joint locking.
