The Canary Islands, known as "Islas Canarias" in Spanish, is a volcanic archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean composed of seven islands and located at 28. Although the archipelago is closer to the African content, or the country of Morocco, it belongs to Spain and therefore is a part of the European Union. In 2019, the islands had a population of 2,153,389 and a density of 287.39 inhabitants per km2.
Scenes from the Solo: A Star Wars Story movie were filmed in Fuerteventura, one of the eastern islands that make up the archipelago. The in-universe location of Fuerteventura is the planet Savareen.
