Cigarra

A cigarra, also cigar or cigarillo, was a mild narcotic that could be ignited and smoked for the purposes of relaxation.

Cigarras were kept in humidors, and were extremely popular in gambling districts and drinking establishments.

Lando Calrissian and Niles Ferrier were known to be avid cigarra smokers.

Aficionados could sometimes distinguish between different varieties by the scent of their smoke. In 9 ABY, while at Sluis Van shipyard, Lando Calrissian was able to identify the smell of carababba tabac with armudu spice on Luke Skywalker's clothing, meaning that the young Jedi had recently been in close proximity to someone smoking a carababba cigarra.

Knowing that ship thief Niles Ferrier was a frequent user of this variety, Calrissian feared that he may be attempting to steal from the New Republic Defense Fleet currently docked at the shipyard. His suspicions proved correct when Skywalker used Force memory enhancements to recall that Ferrier was heading towards a lesser used corridor. Skywalker later used used Force smell to track Ferrier by his cigarra smoke.

Other cigarra smokers included Senior Second Grubber Vapps of Bartyn's Landing and his superior Administrator Guther Bartyn.
