A cooking stone was a part of survival gear, intended to be set in or held over a fire to cook food without burning it. Han Solo once used one to hold damp sand, which he shot with a blaster to catch the water vapor on a face mask he held above the stone in order to drink and survive in a Tatooine sandstorm.
