Cub-peddler

Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

Cub-peddlers were traffickers that peddled the live infants of many sentients. They would primarily sell to members of carnivorous species who viewed the infants as a delicacy. Hundreds of cub-peddlers operated on Nar Shaddaa where there was a lack of law enforcement to shut down their operations and an abundance of hungry buyers. While Obi-Wan Kenobi and a newborn Luke Skywalker were on Nar Shaddaa seeking passage to Tatooine, a Rakaan mistook the Jedi for a cub-peddler. In response to his attempts to purchase Luke from him, Kenobi mind tricked the Rakaan into reporting every cub-peddler he finds to sympathetic bounty hunters.
