D-Quadrant was a quadrant of turbolaser turrets on the first Death Star. Darth Vader gave the command for these turrets to cease fire on the fighters in the trench so that he could safely move in. It was destroyed in 0 BBY along with the rest of the Death Star during the Battle of Yavin.
