The Dangerous Species Act was a piece of legislation in effect during the reign of the Galactic Empire. Imperial Governor Paro Lanto used the Dangerous Species Act to dispatch a Star Destroyer to the planet Barab I after several hunting parties with Planetary Safaris Inc. were killed while visiting the planet. Captain Osted Alater discovered that the Barabels—the planet's native inhabitants—were responsible for the killings and that they were sentient. Following Alater's report to Lanto, Barab I was admitted to the Empire and expiditions by Planetary Safaris stopped.
