An electroscope was a type of scope. In 0 ABY, after a weaponized virus was thrown at them inside a prison cell by the Shi'ido Borborygmus Gog, the Human Tash Arranda used an electroscope to spot where the virus had not yet taken hold in the cell, before locating the Doctor Kavafi to the area.
