Embersteel was a metallic compound that formed when metallic ores were melted by lava vents, warped by Hoth's electromagnetic fields, and then instantly cooled by Hoth's icy temperatures. During the Galactic War, Galactic Solutions Industries hired several individuals to collect embersteel as they suspected it would be useful in the construction of plasma cannons.
