An energy lathe was a tool used in workshops. While posing as workers for a company they called Skywalker Technical Maintenance Service, the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 accepted a job to recalibrate an energy lathe belonging to a Mos Eisley shop owner. The two droids never completed the work.
