Legends Linked from 1 article

Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

The fast draw was a type of gun duel move, which entailed outpacing a rival gunman and shooting him/her. It was considered popular enough to be used in holofilms. However, it did have drawbacks that would have made it too dangerous to utilize: Namely, it resulted in a decrease of accuracy for speed. Han Solo, when talking to the historian Voren Na'al about gun duel styles, explained that the fast draw from his observations resulted in more duelists employing the fast draw ending up killed in gunfights than other gun duel styles.
